Hello there everyone... My name is Ford McDonald... or as the students call me "Coach Mac".   I am a 2009 Clemson Tiger (B.S.) and a 2011 University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagle (M.S.) graduate.  This is my 11th year teaching and 7th at Berea High School.  I previously taught at Crescent High School in Iva, SC and Carolina High School here in Greenville.  

I am very excited be a part of the culture here. When I'm not teaching the students, I spend a great chunk of time with our football team.  I serve as the Varsity QBs/RBs & Offensive Coordinator for the football program during the Fall... I was also the Head Varsity Baseball Coach during the Spring for the 3 seasons but have decided to step away to spend more time with my growing family.  

When I am not teaching or coaching, I enjoy reading detective & mystery novels, smoking meat, listening to Podcasts or Audible books, watching MARVEL movies, chasing the little white ball around the golf course, fantasy football/baseball and being in a pool or lake if possible.  My wife Marla & I welcomed our first child in October 2021... a baby boy named Knox! And we added to our total with our 2nd baby boy, Nash, in October 2024.  Our most recent addition allowed me to begin my "Girl Dad Era" when our daughter, Natalie, joined the world in April of 2026.  Go Dogs!!
