About Me

I'm Birdie Barbare, an alumnus of Greer High School, and I'm excited to begin my seventh year of teaching and 11th year of coaching at the "Hive". I was a three-sport athlete in high school and was involved in many clubs/organizations. Since middle school, I knew I was called to teach physical education, and in high school, I realized my ultimate goal was to return to Greer High to do so. I attended the University of South Carolina Upstate where I obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in physical education in 2017 but still remain a loyal Clemson Tigers fan! I received my Master's degree in Special Education from Converse College in 2019 and also obtained my Master's Plus 30 degree in Administration from Gardner-Webb University in 2020. Additionally, I was blessed to be named the 2020-21 Greer High School Teacher of the Year. In 2023, I earned my Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. I am blessed to coach basketball at Greer High School and love getting to work with athletes daily. I enjoy being involved with my church, being an FCA leader, serving on mission trips, coaching, working out, and spending time with family and friends. I am excited to continue teaching and coaching at Greer High School and love serving the surrounding Greer community! Go Jackets!
