Let me first welcome you to the 5th grade and thank you! Thank you for entrusting me with your most precious gift – your child. I hope you all had a fun and exciting summer and managed to get a little rest and relaxation so that you are ready for a great year.
I hope to get to know each of you over the course of this year and I want you to have a chance to know me. I received my undergraduate degree from The College of Charleston in Elementary Education in 1994. After teaching for 2 years, I went on to complete my Master’s in Education at Charleston Southern University in 1999. I have taught for a total of 30 years at various grade levels. This will be my 23rd year teaching 5th grade. In May 2020, I graduated with my second Master's Degree in Literacy - from CLEMSON!
This summer my husband, Mike and I, celebrated our 18th anniversary. We have five children: Preston (32) who is married to Maddie, Courtney (30), Cooper (27) who is married to Caddy, Grayson (24) who is marrying Elise in September, and Lanie Katherine (23). We also have two wonderful grandsons: Elliott (4) and Lucas (4).
