Let me introduce myself. My name is Christina Moroney. I am beginning my 23rd year teaching at Fork Shoals and my 19th year in first grade! I previously taught Kindergarten. I graduated from USC Upstate in 2004, with certification in Early Childhood Education, but I also hold a degree from Clemson University (Go Tigers!) in Graphic Communications which I received in 1999. I attained National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist in 2010 and renewed in 2018. I completed a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning with a STEAM concentration at Clemson in 2019. I love teaching first grade! This year, you will be amazed, as I am every year, at how much your child will grow and change! Although I grew up in Westwood, New Jersey, I have lived in Upstate South Carolina for the past 31 years. I live nearby in Pelzer. I have been married for 27 years to Stephen, an engineer with Michelin. We have three beautiful children. Lindsey, 25, recently graduated from Clemson University and is working in agriculture; Colin, 21, is a senior at Clemson University studying Theater Light Design and double majoring in Economics, and Christopher, 18, is a freshman at Clemson University studying engineering. All three went through Fork Shoals School, Ralph Chandler Middle and Woodmont High! Although we are empty nesters now, a dachshund named Daisy, a cheweinie named Penny and two cats named Piper and Charlie rule the household. In my spare time, I LOVE to read, plan travel and cruise! We are a little crazy about Disney! We are also members of Simpsonville First Baptist.
