Every day students will:
-Deutsch sprechen!
In order to learn German, you must speak it. Participate as much as possible. It makes class more fun and interesting, and the time passes more quickly.
-Be respectful of classmates, of Frau and all adults!
Raise your hand to speak. No noises while others are speaking. No inappropriate or harmful language. Respect the thoughts, beliefs and opinions of others. Don’t touch things that aren’t yours. Do your part to keep the classroom clean.
-Use class time wisely!
We work bell to bell. The bell does not dismiss you; I do. No disruptions during class that take away from your classmates’ learning. No working on other classes’ work during German class.
-Follow directions the first time they are given. Ask for clarification, if needed.
-Be on time AND prepared!
When the bell rings, you will need to be over the classroom threshold. The door will be closed. Once closed, you are tardy.
-Be responsible for your own learning! Do your own work and do it well!
-Keep up with your assignments! Falling behind in a world language class is especially detrimental because one lesson sets the foundation for the next.
-Study every day! Go over vocabulary and grammar every night! This is so important. German or any content, for that matter, is easier to retain in small amounts.
-Be enthusiastic and apply yourself! Don't be afraid to make mistakes or mispronoun a word/words. Remember, the more you apply yourself, the more you will retain and the better your German will become.
-Ask for help! Don't wait until it is too late. If you have a question and/or don't understand something, ask, ask, ask.
-Take care of personal business on your own time, not class time!
-No food or drink allowed, except for water.
-No cell phones in the class! Devices should be in your backpack. This includes Apple watches. Backpacks will go in the outlined backpack zone.
