About Me

Hello! Welcome to my website! I am really excited to begin a new school year at Woodmont High School. It is truly a special place that fosters growth, awareness, and provides a wonderful learning environment for all students. This will be my seventh year teaching at Woodmont, and not only am I a teacher, but my kids were also students here. My son Josh graduated in 2016 from Woodmont and is now living in Charleston. He will be marrying his sweetheart, Jordan, this November, and we are so excited! My daughter Ally attends the University of Alabama (I've learned to say Roll Tide!) and is majoring in Addictions and Recovery. We also hosted three foreign exchange students, who all attended Woodmont as well - Maurice and Larissa (brother and sister) from Germany and TJ from Norway. I have been married to my husband, Kent, for 24 years. We recently moved to Lake Keowee, and you can find him on the water fishing most evenings and weekends. We enjoy traveling and spending time together. When I'm not teaching, I love to shop, read, and plan my dream vacations.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English degree from USC Upstate and a Master of Arts in English from Grand Canyon University. Fun fact: I've hiked to the bottom the Grand Canyon!

I love teaching, and my students become "my kids" each year. I'm passionate about not only helping them become stronger English students, but also better young adults. I'm blessed to work at the best high school in the state!
