About the Teacher

I am a manufacturing industry professional who transitioned to the field of middle level education 5 years ago. I teach Design & Modeling, Introduction to Green Car Technology, Flights & Space and Vex Robotics in grades 6-8th. As a process  engineer and quality assurance manager, many tasks in my former career  were directly related to employee training. I am now focused on providing my students with the knowledge, technical skills, and professional skills they need to be independent learners with a growth mindset and future productive citizens of our community. I try to encourage my students to be good citizens and stewards of the planet as often as possible. 

In my spare time, I enjoy photography. I am an incredibly proud "boy mom" to three young men: Tyler (24), Andrew (23), and Sam (17). I have been married to my wonderful husband, Brent, for 27 years.  We are avid marching band enthusiasts and help design and build props for our son's band competitions. 

I was honored to have been chosen by my peers as Greer Middle's 2020-21 Teacher of the Year. I love this school and all the people in it!  The Greer Middle Faculty has so much to offer. I am blessed to be a part of this family.
