Hi yall!
My name is Clayton Wynn and I grew up in the Sea Islands of the Lowcountry, specifically Beaufort, SC. I am a girl dad to two beautiful girls. My oldest daughter Aria and my youngest baby, Mya. My amazing wife is also a teacher in Greenville; she teaches Pre-K Special Education at Woodland Elementary. Funny enough, both my older brother and his wife also teach for Greenville County at Fountain Inn High and Mauldin High. When I am not spending time with the family and around any kind water, (pool, ocean, river, puddles if I have to), I am rooting on the Florida Gators or maybe even shaking off my boots and playing or watching some rugby, which I played all 4 years of my time at Coastal Carolina University.
As for my educational and teaching background, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Coastal Carolina University. I started teaching in Beaufort just a few days after graduating. I would spend the next 5 years teaching 3rd and 5th grade at the elementary school before jumping up to 8th grade at Lady's Island Middle. This was a special move up for me as it was the school I personally attended when I was in middle school. Some of my former teachers and office staff were still working there when I joined the staff, making for a truly special few years. I spent two years teaching 8th grade SS before my wife and I decided to move to the upcountry. Goodbye rivers and ocean (insert cry face), and hello mountains, lakes(yay water!), and snow(not sure how I feel about this).
Last year was my first year teaching at Riverside Middle, where I taught Social Studies for 8th Grade. This will be my first year teaching a cycle class focused on the health sciences and I could not be more ecstatic to be given the opportunity to be teaching such awesome skills and applicable learning to your 7th graders. It will be my greatest effort to fill this class with as much hands on, and life applicable learning as possible for all students whether they have interest in the health professions or not.
