Expectations

On this page, you will find two types of student expectations: inside the classroom and outside the classroom.

Everyday inside the classroom, students will:

-¡Habla español!

In order to learn Spanish, you must speak it! Participate as much as possible. It makes class more fun, interesting and it goes by more quickly!

-Be respectful! (Of classmates and of Señorita)

Raise your hand to speak. No noises while others are speaking. No inappropriate or harmful language. Respect others’ thoughts, beliefs and opinions. Don’t touch things that aren’t yours. Do your part to keep the classroom clean.

-Use class time wisely.

We work bell to bell. The bell does not dismiss you- I do. No disruptions during class that take away from your classmates’ learning. No working on other classes’ work during Spanish class.

-Follow directions the first time they are given. Ask for clarification.

-Be on time AND prepared!

When the bell rings, you are in your assigned seat working on the warm-up activity, with all your materials and ready to learn!

-Be responsible for your own learning. Do your own work and do it well.

-Take care of personal business on your own time, not class time.

-No food or drink allowed except for water!

-BYOD procedures will be enforced. Devices should not be visible nor used unless directed.

Consequences include (but are not limited to) warning, phone call home, lunch detention, referral, conference with parent and/or administration.

Everyday outside the classroom, students will:

-Study 15-20 minutes. There is always new vocabulary and new or old grammar that needs to be looked at outside of class in order to be successful in class. This is understood to be homework, along with any additional assignments posted in Google Classroom.

-Look at and use the Google Calendar page for class notes and homework assignments. This is especially important if the student is absent.

-If you miss a day of class, you must go to the Google Calendar page, copy/print the day's notes and complete the end of class activity, along with any homework assigned.
