Mr. Josh Recinos
Mr. Recinos received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Bob Jones University. During his time at BJU, he performed in the Symphonic Wind Band and Symphony Orchestra as a clarinet player. He also participated in the Collegiate Choir for one year. Mr. Recinos earned a chair in the 2016 and 2017 South Carolina Collegiate Honor Band. For two years, he served as the president for the BJU Collegiate Chapter of the South Carolina Music Educators Association. Mr. Recinos is a member of the South Carolina Band Director's Association, South Carolina Music Education Association, and the National Association for Music Education. Mr. Recinos recently completed his Master of Music in Music Education from the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
In 2018, Mr. Recinos began his teaching career at Tanglewood Middle School. In his tenure at Tanglewood, the Centurion Bands have received Superior and Excellent ratings at Concert Performance Assessment, Solo & Ensemble, and the Carowinds Festival of Music.
Mr. Recinos was the Assistant Director of Bands at Carolina HS & Academy from 2021-2023 before becoming the Director of Bands in 2023.
Mr. Recinos two favorite drinks are coffee and Dr. Pepper and you will usually see him in the mornings with one of those in hand. He loves going to the beach and taking trips up to the mountains with friends. He enjoys playing volleyball, running/biking on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and taking classes at Cyclebar in Downtown Greenville.
