About Mrs. Christy

I am Kathi Christy and I am so excited to be teaching this year in the Greenville County School Virtual Program. 

I have been teaching 20 years and until school year 2020-21 all of those years of teaching were at Northwest Middle School in Travelers Rest, South Carolina where I started and developed their Computer Department.  In school year 2020-21, I became a Greenville County Virtual Program teacher, and I LOVE it!!!!!   I teach the Middle School Computer Classes and I am the "Resident Chef" sponsoring the Cooking Club/Classes for Students, teachers, and Parents in the Virtual Program.  I am a Certified Master Food Preserver and have also completed a program in Food to Market/Entrepreneurship, both certifications from Clemson University.  Teaching is my second career, prior to teaching, I was the Global Product Director for a Fortune 100 Company.  My degree and background is in accounting, finance, and marketing. I am truly a LIFE LONG learner.  I am married to my high school sweetheart for 46 years. We have 2 adult children, both also married their high school sweethearts, and we have 6 beautiful and spoiled grandchildren. I also have a VERY spoiled Goldendoodle named River.  

I LOVE my family, teaching, cooking, canning/preserving, raising chickens, animals, and camping.  My favorite color is PURPLE!!!
