My name is Christine Hughes and I have been a teacher for 22 years. This will be my sixth year at Riverside High School and I'm so exited to be here.  I've taught at Beck Academy for 9 years and prior to teaching at Beck,  I taught in Florida at the middle and high school levels. A little over 17 years ago my family moved to Greenville from Wellington, Florida. While in Florida I received a B.S. degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from Florida State University ( GO NOLES!) and went on to receive my M.S. degree in Education at Nova Southeastern University. 

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 26 years and have two amazing sons, Mason and Logan. We have 4 dogs and two cats.  Needless to say I am an animal lover and enjoy volunteering at the local Humane Society. My hobbies include playing on a tennis league and running in 5k's and 10k's.  As a family we love to play tennis and golf, go out on boat,  bike ride on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, hike in the mountains, and relax on the beach. 

I have a passion for history and feel fortunate to teach it to students on a daily basis. My goal is to show my students how fascinating and exciting history can be as well as relate it to current events.  I am a true believer in motivation and I will recognize, reinforce, and celebrate each child's successes and progress throughout this school year..
