Hello! I'm Ms. McCoy, and I love math and physics. I started studying them more in depth when I decided at the last minute to register for AP Physics in high school, and I ended up falling in love with it. I've always had a passion for education, and I am very excited to be continuing my teaching career at an amazing school like WHHS.
I graduated in 2020 from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and a Minor in Music; I had an A average in both high school and college. My favorite subjects in my field are quantum mechanics and special relativity. I spent the 21-22 academic year here at Wade Hampton as a long-term sub and as an instructional aide for physics. I received certification in Secondary Physics in summer 2022 through the PACE Program, and this is my fourth year as a teacher.
I'm also a big nerd in my free time, too. I learned how to play the guitar and piano from my dad, and I spent most of my minor in music as a member of the College of Charleston Concert Choir. I love Dungeons & Dragons, video games, and anime, and I took Japanese classes in college and continue to study the language. I also have a cat named Minnie; she has a mustache.
