Communication
Education is a partnership between home and school. I encourage you to be involved in your child’s class and school. Parents are sent a weekly newsletter via email to stay informed on the upcoming week and other announcements. Please also check your child’s folder daily. A behavior report is on the back of the folder and should be initialed by a parent at the end of each week. Conferences are offered throughout the school year.
Folders
Homework folders will be used daily. Please check these folders nightly and return them each day. All important papers and finished work will be sent home in this folder each day. Graded work will be sent home by Friday each week. Please check the back of the folder daily for our class behavior log.
Homework
Homework packets are sent home at the beginning of the week. All directions are included in the packet. After each assignment is completed, please have an adult check it for accuracy. Homework is due on FRIDAYS and a parent signature is required.
Transportation
If there is a change in the usual way your child is going home, please fill out the Change in Transportation form, found on the PRES website, and on our weekly newsletter. Changes cannot be made after 1:45 PM.
School Hours
The PRES building opens at 7 AM, however, students arriving before 7:30 will go to the early holding area, which is on the 2nd grade hall. Students are dismissed to classes at 7:30, and the school day begins at 7:45. Dismissal is at 2:15 PM.
Parent Backpack
PLEASE SIGN UP FOR PARENT BACKPACK! This is how you will access your child’s grades, attendance, and other important information.
Behavior
Student behavior is monitored through the use of a clip chart. Each student has a clip with his/ her name. Students begin each day on a $0 value. Students are able to clip up for good behavior or clip down for behavior not following our class rules (be kind, be safe, work hard). At the end of the day, students will record their final monetary value in the calendar on the back of their folder. At the end of each week, parents will initial their name to indicate they’ve seen and understand their child’s week. The total rewarded “money,” can be spent in our class shop, opened once a month! Behavior that does not meet classroom expectations may result in fines of classroom “money.” Students are responsible for keeping their money in their classroom wallet. Lost money is not replaced.
