Special Education Resource
My name is Christie Evatt and I am excited to be your child's Special Education teacher this year! This is my thirteenth year teaching Bethel students. I am a graduate of Converse College with a BA degree in Special Education-Learning Disabilities. I also have a M. Ed degree with a Specialization in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. My certifications include Learning Disabilities and Elementary Education. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family/friends, playing with my Goldendoodle, shopping and traveling. I am looking forward to a successful year of seeing my students learn and grow.
Hello. My name is Amy Raja and I am looking forward to working with your child this school year. This is my 11th year teaching and my 2nd year at Bethel Elementary as a Resource Teacher. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from USC upstate and my Master's in Education with Concentration in Learning Disabilities from Furman University.
My husband, Kamran and I have three amazing children. We have two daughters and a son. Nadia is 13, Nora is 11, and Idrees is 5. We recently adopted two cats- Callie and Reese. I love spending time with my family, shopping, traveling, and trying out new restaurants!
It is a privilege to be returning for my fifth year at Bethel, and I am so excited about getting to know each of you! Although I have a M. Ed. in Special Education- Learning Disabilities, I have spent the majority of my career as an elementary classroom teacher in 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades, with the most (14 years) in 3rd grade. I now look forward to working as a resource teacher to help meet the needs of students in small group settings.
Please know that I am here to support students and families so that every child reaches his/her potential. Let's have a great year of growing and learning together!
