Missing Assignments & NHI: A Quick Guide for Parents:
What does NHI mean? NHI stands for "Not Handed In." This means your child has not turned in a required assignment.
How to determine what is missing: You can log into parent backpack to see which assignments are marked NHI. The assignment name, due date, and any related details will be listed there.
What happens if the assignment isn’t turned in: An NHI counts as a 50 in the gradebook until the work is submitted. Once your child completes and turns in the missing assignment, the grade will be updated. If the assignment is never turned in, the NHI will remain a 50, which may significantly impact your child’s overall grade.
Submissions to clear an NHI must be turned in to the teacher within 2 weeks of the original assignment date.
Reassessment Policy:
After a minor assignment is given, students who have not mastered the material will be offered the opportunity to analyze and reflect on their learning, and may request a reassessment. Chandler Creek teachers will reteach concepts students haven’t mastered, then reassess relevant parts of the assignment to promote a mastery of learning concepts prior to a major assessment. Requests for reassessment must be submitted within one week of the minor grade being posted.
