About Me

I teach 7th grade Math at Lakeview Middle School.

I taught special education at Beck for one year and Saluda Middle School for four years in Saluda, SC. I have taught at the middle school level for a total of 18 years.  I had taken two years off to stay home with my son and have been at Lakeview for the last 13 years. This year I am in my 5th year of being the core teacher in the math classroom.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Northland Baptist Bible College in 2001.  I then went on to complete my Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education Learning Disabilities at Bob Jones University in 2003.

After passing the Praxis Exams for Special Education, I went on to teach from 2004-2008 at Saluda Middle School in Saluda, SC.  During this time I also took and passed the Praxis for Middle School Math becoming highly qualified to teach in the middle school resource setting.

In the Spring Semester of 2009 I worked for Spartanburg County as a long term substitute teacher.  At the end of 2009 I began working at Brain Balance Achievement Centers for students with autism and ADHD as the evaluator and lead teacher of the academic room.

In the 2012-2013 school year, I took the Elementary Praxis Exam, making me highly qualified to teach as the special education teacher in the classroom grades K5 through 12th. I added Middle Level Mathematics to my certification in the summer of 2019 when I took and passed the Middle Level Mathematics Praxis exam.

When I am not at school, I enjoy playing with my son who is twelve and a half.  I also enjoy playing chess and reading mystery novels.
