About Ms. Jones

This is my 14th year as an educator and my first year at Thomas E. Kerns. I have lived in South Carolina my entire life.  I split those years between Greer, Greenville, and Charleston.  After a detour into the world of chemistry at the College of Charleston, I obtained my teaching certification in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. I received a Master’s in Education from Southern Wesleyan University. I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grades. I have also worked with adult students at Greenville Technical College.

I love to read, and listen to podcasts. I have two adorable fur babies named Jolie and Honey. I travel to Guatemala every summer. I love traveling, but I am not very fond of flying.

I am very excited to be working in 5th grade. It is always an adventure. It is remarkable to watch the students mature over the course of a school year.  How exhilarating!

I would love to hear from you and get to know you better.  If you ever wish to contact me, you may do so through notes, email, or Classdojo.  My contact information is listed below.            [Carmen Jones]   [cmjones@greenville.k12.sc.us]    [864-355-1328]
