Please allow me to take a moment to welcome you to Mauldin Middle School for an exciting and eventful seventh-grade year. My name is Mr. Nantambu Calhoun, and I will be one of the most energetic and exciting teachers that you will experience this year. I am highly qualified and certified to teach English/Language Arts for Middle Schools per the South Carolina  Department of Education.  I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from South Carolina State University and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction/Teacher Leadership from Concordia University.  I believe in the power of words. I believe that anything is possible. I believe that every student can learn, and I believe that every student and teacher has a destiny. This is my twelfth year teaching, and I am so excited to be a Mustang!  Yes! Yes! Yes! Mustang Pride…Every day all day!!!

I have the absolute highest expectation for every student.  Each student will be challenged every day. My goal is to ensure that every student achieves understanding, mastery, and application of English/Language Arts according to South Carolina assessments and standards.  In addition to this, my goal is to inspire students to be change agents for the world and aspire them to become great.
