Classroom EXPECTATIONS
Respect . Teachers, others, equipment, and yourself.
Put all personal electronics in backpack.
Stay seated until class is dismissed. DO NOT move to the door.
Follow all school policies.
All food, drinks need to be put away except for closable water bottles.
New Cellphone Policy:
Effective January 4, 2024, all Greenville County High Schools will implement a cellphone-free policy. The policy states that personal electronic devices cannot be used by students in classrooms during the instructional day. (Electronic devices include but are not limited to cell phones, earbuds...etc.)
All personal devices must remain out of sight of others during this time. Students may use personal electronic devices during class changes, lunch, and other times outside of the classroom during the instructional day unless approved by Administration.

Class WORK POLICY
To better serve our student’s educational needs and provide consistency across the school, Riverside High School will adhere to the following late work policy.
Course Level Late Work Policy
AP/Honors Courses: 20 points off a day - on the 5th day and beyond it is a zero
CP/Advanced Courses: 10 points off a day - on the 5th day and beyond it is a zero
Dual Credit Courses: Follow the policy of the dual enrollment institution
Homework for all levels (AP/Honors/Advanced/CP) will not be included in this policy. Homework must be turned in on time and if a student is absent, it should be turned in upon their return.
If this is the case, you must have a homework category in the gradebook.
Late work will be defined as the student who attended class and failed to submit a required assignment, not when a student is absent.
If a student is absent, they must be given an opportunity to turn in when they return.
Day is defined by class period.
Grade on late work is based on grade earned (grade earned - late penalty = final grade)
This policy applies to major and minor grades.
Student absences that are excused, unexcused or related to discipline are not affected by this policy as they can turn in work for no penalty if done in a reasonable timeframe upon their return according to GCSD board policy.
Scenarios / Examples
If the assignment is due on Monday (assigned previously) and the student is absent on Monday, it would need to be turned in upon their return.
If a test is on Tuesday and the student is absent on Tuesday, they must have a minimum of five days to work out a plan to make up the test
If there is an in class project on Wednesday and the student is absent on that day, they must be given a minimum of five days to make a plan to complete the project.
Additional Expectations:
Zeros for Late Work
Zeros for late assignments WILL be put in ASAP so students and guardians are aware of work that needs to be completed. Students must be given enough notice to allow for any potential errors whether that be on the teacher or student.
The “missing” flag to denote that the assignment can still be turned in with the penalty based on school wide late work policy

Minor 12 per quarter, generally
Major 3-4 per quarter, generally
Grades are updated weekly (3-5 days after assignment is due)
Final Exams
Final exams will not be given early
About me:
I enjoy watching the Clemson Tigers during throughout football and soccer seasons. My passion for education has been profoundly been shaped by a diverse group of teachers, both exemplary and less effective teachers. A guiding principle in my life has always been the words that I live by: “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou. This is what led me into coaching sports, and being a teacher.
