COURSE OVERVIEW - ENTREPRENEURSHIP 

This Entrepreneurship course immerses students in the dynamic world of business and innovation. Through engaging hands-on projects, collaborative activities, and real-world applications, students will explore the journey of starting and managing a business. Students will gain the knowledge and skills to develop a business idea from concept to execution.

Class Work & Late Work Policy

Our goal is to provide consistency, fairness, and clear expectations for all students. The following policies are based on Riverside High School and Greenville County Schools guidelines.

Course Level

Late Work Penalty

Honors

20 points deducted per day late. After the 5th day, the assignment receives a zero.

CP / Advanced

10 points deducted per day late. After the 5th day, the assignment receives a zero.

Dual Credit

Follows the late work policy of the dual-enrollment institution.

What Counts as Late Work?

Late work applies when a student was present in class but did not submit a required assignment by the deadline.

Absences are different. Students who are absent must be given an opportunity to complete and submit missed work when they return.

Important Things to Know

• The late-work penalty is based on the class period/day, not a 24-hour period.

• The final grade is calculated as: Grade Earned − Late Penalty = Final Grade.

• The policy applies to both major and minor assignments.

• Homework is not subject to the late-work penalty. Homework is expected to be completed and submitted on time. If you are absent, submit the homework when you return.

• Students with excused, unexcused, or discipline-related absences will not receive a late-work penalty for work missed because of their absence, provided the work is completed within the timeframe established by district policy.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for: Knowing what is due → Turning work in on time → Checking your grades → Communicating when you need help

If you are absent, check Google Classroom first and communicate with your teacher as soon as possible.

If You Are Absent

If you miss class, check Google Classroom and communicate with your teacher to find out what you missed.

Examples

Assignment due Monday:
If you are absent Monday, submit the assignment when you return.

Test on Tuesday:
If you are absent on the day of a test, you will be given a reasonable opportunity to make up the test and establish a plan for completion.

In-class project on Wednesday:
If you are absent on the day of an in-class project, you will be given a reasonable opportunity to make a plan to complete the project.

Bottom line: An absence does not automatically mean you receive a zero.

Missing Assignments & Zeros

If an assignment is not submitted by the deadline, a zero may be entered temporarily so that students and parents/guardians can clearly see that work is missing.

• A "Missing" designation will be used when an assignment can still be submitted according to the late-work policy.

• Students are responsible for checking their grades and completing missing work.

• Grades will be updated regularly so students and parents/guardians have an accurate picture of academic progress.

 Gradebook Expectations

To provide a consistent and accurate picture of student progress:

Minor Grades: Generally 12–15 assignments per quarter

Major Grades: Generally 3–4 assignments per quarter

Grade Updates: Grades will generally be updated within 3–5 school days after an assignment is due, depending on the type and length of the assignment.

 Final Exams 

Final exams will not be given early. Students should plan accordingly and make arrangements for any conflicts with the final exam schedule in advance.
