What is Battle of the Books?

 Battle of the Books is a fun, trivia-style reading competition for 4th and 5th grade students that requires students to read 10 selected books and demonstrate their knowledge of the stories, characters, settings, and details. Students practice answering questions throughout the year and compete in teams of five at the school level. The team that advances then competes against other schools at a regional and possibly district competition. During competitions, students answer a combination of practiced questions and brand-new questions based entirely on the books they have read. Battle of the Books encourages reading, teamwork, critical thinking, and a love of literature while making reading fun and competitive! Please come join us!
