When I am not teaching, I love to read, visit the lake, and spend time with my family.

While attending Felician University, I earned a duel bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Humanities and a master's degree in Special Education. I have experience teaching grade levels PreK-3, Resource Room, and Reading Intervention and hold the certificates/endorsements to teach Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, English as a Second Language, Literacy, and to serve as Literacy Coach and Literacy Specialist.
Hi, my name is Jan Griffin. I have been teaching in Greenville County since I graduated from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC. I have a bachelor's degree in Business Education, and master's degrees in Special Education and School Administration from Furman University. I have taught elementary and middle school students with Learning Disabilities and have enjoyed working in reading and math intervention for the past several years at Brushy Creek Elementary. I have two grown children and happily have five grandchildren!
Hello! My name is Mary Jane Leland. I studied Elementary Education at Clemson University and I got my masters at Converse College. I have been teaching for 39 years. I taught 3rd grade up until 4 years ago. I have recently retired from the classroom and now I am excited to work in the RTI program. I am married to Ken, who is a structural engineer at GE. My son, Parker, is a doctor in Hendersonville, NC. He has 2 sons, Henry and James (who are the light of my life). My daughter, Becca, does prosthetics and orthotics here in Greenville.
Hello! My name is Kathy Lewis. I graduated from Carson Newman College with my degree in Elementary Education. I received my master in early childhood at the University of South Carolina. I have been teaching for 36years. I have taught grade one through four. I retired four years ago from the regular classroom. I had the opportunity to return to Brushy Creek as a RTI teacher. I am married to my high school sweetheart and have two daughters that are married. I have 4 grandchildren who are my sunshine.
