Reading Intervention (RTI) with Mrs. Sherbert
Dear Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Brooke Sherbert, and I love teaching! I have had the honor and privilege of teaching many wonderful classes of students here at Ellen Woodside for over 20 years. I know that learning must begin with making your child feel comfortable in my classroom, and with helping all the children come together as a community made of unique individuals. I have 3 children of my own, and I am very eager to make a positive impact on your child’s life. Education is very important to the teachers that I work with and to me. I am ready for a productive and exciting year, and I look forward to learning more about you and your child. Together, we can build your child’s future. Let’s make this a great year by encouraging your child to always do his or her best and to be a good friend and fellow classmate.
Your child is offered the opportunity for literacy enrichment during the school day. I am excited to work with your child on individual reading goals during our RTI small group time! This program is designed with research based programs to enhance your child’s reading success. We base this opportunity on teacher references and our baseline reading scores.
In addition to classroom reading lessons with your child’s teacher, our small group will meet 5 times a week for 30 minutes. Your child will not miss any important activities in their regular classroom. We have arranged our program so that students in RTI are pulled at appropriate times so they do not miss core instruction, recess, or related arts.
Please contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns or just want to talk about your child’[s progress. I can be reached by email brsherbe@greenville.k12.sc.us or by phone at (864) 355-4935 and am happy to help in any way possible! I look forward to working with your child!
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Brooke Sherbert
