We are here to support the classroom teachers, both as instructional aides and by purchasing materials to help support the school-wide curriculum.
To schedule the Media Center for your classes, please check the availability on the calendar and email Mr. Kendrick to discuss your needs. We can tailor each visit to the Media Center to hit 21st Century Literacy Standards as well as your curriculum standards. Ask us how to integrate more technology into your lessons and projects! Mr. Kendrick is available to come to planning meetings during the day, as well as before and after school by appointment.
You can also schedule the computer labs as well. Take a look at the calendars and send a message to Mr. Kendrick or Ms. Brown and we can schedule you for the space. 409 and 410 have 30 stations each. 501 has about 28 laptops. Room 405 has 24 laptops. All of the Chromebooks are located on the halls.
If you have items you need to order from the Robbie Van Pelt Instructional Materials Center, please email Mr. Kendrick with the title, author, and number of copies. Include the date you need the items and how long you plan to keep them.
The color printer is located in the Media Center. Its name ends in Media02. When you print to this printer, it costs your account 25 cents a page. Please be sure to check your printer settings after you've printed to the color printer to make sure it goes back to your printer in your room!
Let us help you build your classroom library! Make sure you come by the Media Center during the book fair to set up your Teacher Wish List- we will be happy to suggest titles for you!
BRMS has two laminators in the mail room for teachers to use. If you want to use them, please switch them on about 15 minutes before you plan to use them. Leave the things that you need to laminate beside the machines so that others know you plan to use the machine. Please turn the machines off when you are finished using them. We don't want to burn out their heating elements.
We can provide a replacement toner cartridge for your printer when it runs out. Just send us the old one and we can replace it. There is a video on the staff drive that shows you how to replace it. Look in the Staff Handbook under the folder "how to."
Ms. Brown and Mr. Kendrick are also the TACs for BRMS. If you have a problem with your computer, the more complete description of the problem you send us, the quicker we can help you solve it. Merely telling us "my computer isn't working" means we have to come back to you with more questions. Always include the information from the "HelpDesk6" icon on your desktop when sending a complete description of your problem to both of us.
