Converse Leadership School
CLS OVERVIEW
This program offers cadets a great opportunity to become actively involved in improving our program here at Blue Ridge. Cadets will have the opportunity to challenge themselves and work as a team, learning from other cadets and instructors from South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. Attendance at CLS 2019 was 280 cadets from 19 schools. This is a very exciting and challenging week and one that could lead to their advancement within SC-20023. It is not easy to get there, but well worth the effort. Cadets will make new friends, get to know their current friends better, and learn a lot about themselves in the process. It’s hard work, but fun. The camp will be at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, usually around the third week of June, so we suggest interested cadets not make any summer plans prior to June 21st.
Selection criteria. There are several factors involved in a cadets selection to attend CLS. All cadets, except seniors, whether active in first semester or second semester, are potentially eligible to attend. What determines eligibility first and foremost is performance. Academics, physical conditioning, conduct, and JROTC involvement, are all extremely important considerations when the nomination list is put together in early March. If your cadet is interested have them contact Maj Wright or Chief Ippolito ASAP.
