Media Center Procedures     

Media Center Hours:

8:00am-3:30pm (the Media Center will be closed to all students/staff from 8:30-8:45am while the Morning News is being broadcast/taped).

Students can come to the Media Center anytime during the above hours to check out/return books. 

**Mrs. Barker and Mrs. Stover are not always in the Media Center, so teachers should call the library at Ext. 2106 to make sure there are no classes in the Media Center and/or that Mrs. Barker or Mrs. Stover are available. 


Visiting the Library

Student can come to the Media Center during the school day, with a teacher's permission to:

Ask your teacher to call x2106 before you come to the library so that they can make sure the library is open.

Not sure what to read next? Email Mrs. Barker at pbarker@greenvilleschools.us and she will make some recommendations to you. You may want to include some the following info to help Mrs. Barker  find a book that is the perfect fit for you: fiction or non-fiction?, favorite genre (humor, sports, action, humor, romance, realistic), type of books you enjoy reading (shorter, longer, graphic novels, books in verse), favorite author, last book your read. 

Accessing ebooks and audiobooks  through Sora (click the link to view video)

All Greenville County School students have access to SORA for ebooks.   This shared collection contains thousands of ebooks and audiobooks. Students sign in using their GCS username and password. Students can check out up to 10 books for 14 days each. They can place a hold on any ebook or audiobook that is currently unavailable. 

Book Recommendations

Use this form (Get this Book) to make recommendations of books that you think we should purchase for the BMS Media Center.
