AFJROTC Honors Program: Cadets must be recommended by the SASI/ASI in order to enroll for these courses. Cadets enrolled in AFJROTC Honors must have demonstrated the dedication and leadership necessary for appointment to Cadet Corps Leadership positions. Honors Cadets will actively plan and manage unit operations. Honors Cadets must be highly motivated and must exemplify Air Force Core Values.
AFJROTC Honors Capstone Project: This project is provided for those students that want to continue on in AFJROTC during their Junior and Senior year and receive honors credit. It will allow top cadets to earn honors credit for a more demanding version of AFJROTC, allowing cadets the opportunity to improve their leadership, management, and organizational skills. This culminating honors project is designed for cadets to demonstrate essential skills through reading, writing, speaking, production, and/or performance. Cadet skills in analysis, logic, and creativity will also be showcased through successful completion of this project. The Honors Capstone Project is primarily targeted for Junior and Senior cadets in a four-year program. However, it is not uncommon for other academically successful cadets enrolled in Advanced Placement or other Honors programs to successfully complete this project. In order to retain these cadets in the unit’s AFJROTC program and to continue to improve their critical thinking and research skills, selected cadets with demonstrated academic capabilities may also enroll in this class with SASI approval. Students selected to participate in Honors AFJROTC will be provided with a separate Capstone Project Handbook that will outline the components, timelines, and specific requirements for completion of honors credit.
