Meet Coach Popores
My name is Coach Popores and this will be my 7th year teaching Physical Education in Greenville County. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with the students, staff, and families at Berea Elementary this year. I am a highly qualified educator and graduated from Emmanuel College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Health & Physical Education. While in college I had the opportunity to play three sports (soccer, basketball, and lacrosse) at the collegiate level. Also in college, I joined a missionary sports team that traveled to Costa Rica and Nicaragua to run sports camps for kids. This unique experience really helped solidify my passion for teaching!
Before jumping right into the public school system I worked as an Outdoor Education Teacher in Tyler, TX. In this role I was able to work with some exotic animals and teach elementary students how to canoe, zip line, climb the rock wall, and shoot archery. It was a blast!
I am married to my wonderful husband (Mr. Popores; who teaches at Tanglewood Middle School) for 5 years. We have a sweet & wild 4 year old named Gideon (Giddy) and a 2 year old little girl named Lola (Lolita). My favorite things to do include spending time with my family, hiking, climbing, running, playing sports, going to the beach, and watching college football. GO DAWGS!
