Meet the Teachers

Mrs. Aguirre ~

Hi my name is Abby Aguirre. I have been teaching since... FOREVER. My career actually started out here at Bethel Elementary as a kindergarten aid.  I was then hired on at Oakview Elementary where I taught fourth grade for 11 years before moving to Texas. In Texas I also taught fourth grade at Beverly Elementary for 11 years. My husband and I moved back home to the Greenville area in 2017. When I am not at school, I love to work in the yard, watch football, go to the beach, and spend time with my husband and family. I’m so excited about being able to continue teaching fourth-grade and being a Bethel Cardinal.

Mrs. Edlin ~

Hello, my name is Hope Edlin. I was born in Louisiana, but have lived in Louisiana, Texas, Ohio, South Dakota, and Kentucky. Most of my childhood was spent in Kentucky though and that is where I met my husband, so we consider Kentucky to be where we are from. We have 3 beautiful daughters and twin grandchildren, Thomas and Sophia!

This is my 21st year teaching and all of those years have been spent at Bethel. I have taught 4th grade and 5th grade. Before I became a classroom teacher, I was the computer lab aide at another Greenville County elementary school.

A few things about me:

-I LOVE to read!

-I enjoy running and fly fishing.

-I'm a foodie. I love to dine out, cook, and try new things.

Mrs. Rodgers ~

Welcome to my fourth grade class. My favorite subjects are math and science because there are so many things to explore. I have been teaching for 28 years, this is my 18th year at Bethel Elementary. I have taught a variety of grades. I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade in the past. This is my 19th year teaching 4th grade. I received my undergraduate degree from Winthrop University and my master's degree from Columbia College.

I have lived in Greenville my whole life. I am married with 3 children, Brittany 29 years old, Charlie 26 years old, and Brooke 24 years old, who graduated from USC and is a nurse. I also have one granddaughter, Kay, that is 7 years old. My husband and I enjoy going to  football games.

I believe all children can learn. Students learn in different ways and as educators, and parents it is our responsibility to figure out the best way to teach a child effectively. Students need to always be encouraged to do their best everyday and to learn as much as possible.

Mrs. Sherbert ~

Welcome to 4th grade! I am Kim Sherbert and this is my 13th year teaching and my 10th year in 4th grade at Bethel! I graduated from USC Upstate with my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education.  I have taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade in the past. I live in Simpsonville with my husband Brandon, our two daughters Rylee ( 9 years old and a 4th  grader at Bethel),  Brooklyn (3 years old) and our dog Tuck. We are a soccer loving family and  are huge Manchester United soccer fans. In my free time I love spending time with  family and friends, hanging out by the pool, going to the beach, cooking out, shopping.

Mrs. Cranford ~

My name is Kathryn Cranford, and I have been teaching for 13 years, but this is my 3rd year at Bethel Elementary.  I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in SC, NC, and Florida.  This will be my 7th year teaching 4th grade.  I received my undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and my master’s degree from Anderson University.

I am married with 2 children, James (7 years old) and Olivia (5 years old).  James is so excited to start 2nd grade this year at Bethel, and Olivia can’t wait to meet new friends at in kindergarten.  We love to go to the beach, cheer on the Atlanta Braves, swim at the pool, and play games together.

I am so excited for another "sweet" year at Bethel and can't wait to work with your children this year!  I will always put your children first, and I promise to support and encourage your family along the way!

Ms. Zahorec ~

My name is Sabrina Zahorec, and I am so excited to be your child's 4th grade teacher!  This will be my fourth year teaching, but my first year at Bethel.  For the past few years, I taught 6th grade math.  I am a proud graduate of Clemson University.  I have a bachelor's and master's degree in Elementary Education.  I am also certified to teach middle level mathematics, and I recently obtained a gifted and talented endorsement.  I grew up attending Greenville County Schools, and I am blessed to give back to the community that raised me.  I look forward to working with you and your child, and I can’t wait to see what this year has in store!
