What is AVID?

AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. Students in the AVID program at Berea Middle will be exposed to academic and social opportunities to help them reach their highest potential. The AVID Elective class will teach students organization, note-taking, study skills, public speaking, and team building. Students will also participate in fundraising events and college field trips. This class is designed to show students opportunities during and after high school, so that they can be college and career ready, while improving academic standing in middle school.
