My name is Melissa Benham and this will be my 19th year teaching for Greenville County Schools. I received a BA in Elementary Education from USC and a Masters of Education in TESOL from Furman University. I went on to earn Administration and Supervision Certification from Clemson University and I hold National Board Certification in Literacy. I am always searching for avenues to better meet the needs of my students and stay in the forefront of best practices. I just concluded coursework at Converse University to achieve Gifted and Talented certification.

I was born and raised in Simpsonville, SC. My husband, Spencer, and I have 2 beautiful daughters named Ava and Ella. They both attend Rudolph Gordon.  We have a Goldendoodle named Finley that is spoiled rotten and 15 chickens that keep our life busy. We love to travel, spend time at the pool, and have game nights.

I believe that every child is capable of learning. Each one brings a unique quality to the classroom and is a valuable asset to our class team.  I am so excited to be your child's 4th grade teacher this year! Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions you may have throughout the year.
