About Me

Hi Everyone!

My name is Mike Beck and I am entering into my 18th year in education. I was raised outside of Raleigh, NC but over the past 10 years, my family and I have lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas. After working as an administrator in higher education for over a decade, my family and I decided to move back to the Upstate and I am excited to transition back into a K-12 environment. I have taught history/social studies classes at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I have a passion for coaching and will be helping coach C-Team basketball at FIHS. I have also attended Fayetteville State University, Liberty University, and East Carolina University and hold a B.A. and M.A. in History, Master's in Library Science, and a doctorate in education. 

My wife Katie and I have three children, Asher (14), Emmie (10), and Blair (6). 

I enjoy coaching, watching sports, spending time with the family, and attending concerts.
