Welcome to 8th grade science! This will be my 25th year teaching middle grades science...and my 17th year teaching 8th grade! I am excited to see how year 25 goes with you! I hope you're ready for a year full of learning!

A little about me...this will be my 8th year at Hughes teaching science. I moved here from Fort Lauderdale, FL in 2017. While I miss the beach, I love being near the mountains. I know this year will present new challenges, but I love being challenged and pushing myself to learn more!

I earned my bachelor's degree from Florida State University in Child Development with minors in Psychology and Special Education,  my master's degree in elementary education from Florida Atlantic University, and eventually my doctorate in Instructional Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2018.  In 2007, I earned my National Board Certification in Middle Grades Science and earned the renewal in 2015, certifying me through 2027.

I am looking forward to an amazing year!
