I'm Mrs. Willis, and I'm excited to be your child's World Geography teacher!
I grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, and earned my bachelor's degree in Education with a minor in History from Mars Hill College.
My husband, Ernest, and I have been married since 2015, and we have two amazing kids. Our son, Joe (9), is our class clown who loves making people laugh and spends his free time playing baseball and basketball. Our daughter, Josie (6), keeps us on our toes! She is fearless, determined, and dreams of being the next Simone Biles.
Sharing our home are our sweet pup, Jellybean (better known as "Beansie"), and a goldfish that somehow survived after being won at the fair several years ago!
When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me with a cup of coffee in hand (7 Brew and Starbucks are favorites!) browsing Target. Chocolate, sour candies and Dr Pepper are classroom essentials—I like to keep a little emergency stash for those extra busy days!
Life outside the classroom is centered around family. Most weekends, you'll find us cheering on Joe and Josie at their games and gymnastics meets. We also love college football (Roll Tide... and Go Tigers—it's a long story!), spending time outdoors, and making memories together. This summer, we enjoyed remodeling our pop-up camper and spending weekends camping as a family.
I feel incredibly lucky to teach World Geography because every day is an opportunity to help students discover new places, cultures, and perspectives. I can't wait to get to know your family and make this a wonderful year of learning together!
