About Mr. Austin

I am happy to be here at Hughes Academy!!  I am originally from Winston-Salem, NC and Graduated from North Carolina State University.  I completed coursework for my teaching degree at Winston-Salem State University!  Go Rams!  And Clemson University. 

After teaching high school in NC for 21 years, my wife’s job moved us to Greenville, SC.  I taught high school 2 years here in Greenville before making the change to middle school.  I enjoy college sports, hiking, and almost anything active and outside. This is my 7th year here at Hughes and my 30th year of teaching overall.  

My wife, Jenee, and I travel as much as we can.  We will celebrate our 29th Anniversary this summer and live near Travelers Rest.
