Students who are interested in applying to the Creative Writing program should come prepared to write. The majority of the time will be spent creating new work under the instructor's direction, but students may also bring a representative sample of their work to the audition. This can be in any genre (poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction) and should represent work the student would consider submitting during the application process. If time permits, students will be given general feedback on their work and some guidance on how to prepare for the actual audition.
