Course Description: This is a rigorous course for mathematically advanced students capable of college level work. Students must have completed Algebra II Honors. Other math courses may be taken simultaneously. The course spans one semester, and in the spring students are required to take the Advanced Placement Statistics Examination.
Instructional Philosophy: My instructional philosophy is to provide a positive classroom environment conducive to learning. Through this, I will provide daily activities that offer students the skills needed to excel in mathematics and other educational areas. Students are expected to participate and be a part of class discussions. The format of the class may vary from day to day, but students are highly encouraged to work with classmates outside of assessments.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
Most importantly a TI-84 graphing calculator. Not a TI-83, not an Nspire, must be a TI-84. I teach off the TI-84 model. No Casio calculators. If you have questions or concerns about that, see me ASAP!
You will get a textbook for this class. It is a great resource and will house a lot of the homework you will complete. Most days you can leave this at home.
