Why French?

French is the second most frequently learned language in the world, after English. French is spoken on every continent and there are 220 million speakers worldwide. Our school provides an opportunity to give your child a global education to prepare them for today’s global economy. Having proficiency in a second language can open the doors down the road to greater opportunities in education, business, and travel.

French Immersion at GMA

French Immersion at Greenville Middle Academy of Traditional and Global Studies is offered to accommodate students who exit Blythe Elementary’s French program as well as other qualified students with a strong French background and demonstrated language proficiency.

Students in the French Immersion program communicate well in French and are taught the language in two classes where French is the primary language of instruction. This second language immersion education promotes adaptability, flexibility and creativity, as children are expected to toggle between multiple languages according to environment. At GMA, these students are taught to read, write, and communicate in both French and English.
