About Me

Mrs. Reid

My Name is Kathryn Reid, and I have been in education for twenty-two years. I was born and raised in Mequon, Wisconsin where I lived for 23 years. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After graduating in 2000, I moved to Southwest Florida to begin my teaching career. In May of 2009, I graduated with my Masters Degree in Reading Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. For 17 years I was an educator in Florida where I worked as a classroom teacher, a Reading Coach, an Intervention Specialist and a Curriculum Specialist.

In 2005, I met and married my husband Grant and began starting a family. We have three beautiful children; two boys, and a little girl. My first son, Nickolas, is in the 10th grade, and my second son, Bradyn, is a 7th grader this year. My daughter Abigail is the little princess of our family is an AJW Engineer in 2nd grade! In June of 2018, my family made the big move out of SW Florida and landed here in beautiful Greenville, South Carolina.

This is my fifth year working at A.J. Whittenberg Elementary, and my third year serving AJW as the instructional coach. My job is to work closely with teachers and staff on the implementation of the state standards and curriculum. My goal is to support the teachers and students as they work towards academic success. Even though things are a bit different this year, I am still so excited to be back at school with our AJ Engineers!,
