Hiya! If you're on this page (hopefully on purpose), it means that you want to know a little bit about me! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and hopefully, this will let you get to know me a little bit. My name is (obviously) A.J. King. I am originally from Carrollton, GA, where I went to school and played sports. I graduated from Central-Carroll High School in 2013. After graduating from high school, I started down a path to teaching middle school math, taking classes at the University of West Georgia. At the time, I thought the only thing I wanted to do was teach and coach football. After a couple of semesters, I decided to change my degree and pursue a Bachelor's in Sport Management, which is basically the business side of sports. This was a tremendously fun degree to obtain, and I learned so much about the business side of sports that I had not really thought about previously. Once I graduated from college, I moved to Greenville with my wife so she could pursue her career. After searching for jobs in the area, I took a valet driver position. This was not a new industry to me because I had been a valet driver for two years while in college. After six months on the job, I was promoted to be the Area Valet Manager, which included managing the valet accounts we had around Greenville. I spent two and a half years in this position before I was promoted to Senior Operations Manager. As the Senior Ops Manager, I was in charge of everything in the Greenville area that was parking-related. While I enjoyed the fast-paced nature of operations and management, something was still missing. I missed the connection, mentorship, and purpose that originally drew me to education. After a lot of reflection (and encouragement from my wife), I decided to return to my original passion—teaching.I am now in my fifth year as a high school teacher, and I can honestly say it’s one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. I currently teach in the Business and Computer Science pathway, and I love helping students build both technical skills and confidence in themselves. Outside of the classroom, I’ve also had the privilege of coaching baseball, which has allowed me to combine my love of sports and mentoring young people. On the home front, I’m a proud husband and dad of three amazing kids who keep life busy, loud, and full of joy. Whether we’re watching movies, playing outside, or just navigating the chaos of everyday life, family is everything to me. Thanks again for stopping by to learn a little about who I am. I’m grateful to be doing what I love, and I’m excited for what this school year holds!
