I love math! And….I love teaching math!
I believe that all students can master math! I believe that writing is essential to the learning and assessment of math concepts and skills. I believe that grades should be a direct reflection of accomplished quality learning, not an indication of how much work was done! I love celebrating little learning accomplishments all along the way! I believe technology has its place in mathematics education! I recycle and expect for my students to respect classroom resources! I rarely say practice makes perfect. Instead when referencing math, I say perfect practice makes better! I believe that standardized testing has its place in education, and that education is not about standardized testing results! I think that organization is key to being prepared for classes each day! Bookbag, study desk, agenda, notes, etc. I believe that if B students would just proofread and polish their estimation skills, they can easily be A students!
I am married with three daughters!
