Hello! I'm Amy Gasparich, a first grade teacher here at Paris Elementary. Most of my students call me Mrs. G. This is my 26th year teaching at Paris. This is my fourteenth year teaching first grade and I love it! Working with first graders is not only rewarding, but also fun. The phrase "never a dull moment" comes to mind when I think about my firsties!
I'm married to my wonderful husband Zak, and we have one son named Sam, who is headed to Brooklyn, NY to start his freshman year of college. We have a sweet cat named Cash and a very old turtle named Terry. We love to travel and hike and are always trying new things together.
I went to Paris as a child, so I was very excited to accept a job here when I finished college! I graduated with my bachelor's degree in special education from Winthrop University, and later got my master's degree in early childhood education from Furman. I recently finished my plus 30 in Literacy at Furman. Both of my parents were teachers, as are several aunts and cousins, so I guess teaching is in my blood!
When I'm not teaching firsties or hanging with my family, I love to bake, sew, spoil my sweet nieces and nephew, read, travel, and go to Zumba and CycleBar classes. This summer we went to Japan to celebrate Sam's graduation. We had a blast and are already planning to go back, maybe when Sam graduates college!
