All About Me

My name is Amy Garbe and this is my 15th year teaching at Washington Center and my 20th year teaching for Greenville County School District.  I love teaching at Washington Center! 

I was born and raised in Southern California and attended college at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. After graduating from CLU, I attended Western Oregon University, where I earned my Master's Degree and Teaching Credential. After graduating, I moved to Greenville, SC and began teaching for the Greenville County School District.

I am very fortunate to have 2 great assistants this year. Janice is starting her 22nd year at Washington Center and Lopez has been at Washington Center for 23 years.  I am lucky to have Janice and Lopez working with me this year!

I am excited to have your student in my class this year. We are planning lots of fun and educational activities for this year. I will keep my website updated with the activities planned for our classroom this year.  I will be sending home a daily communication book with details about your child's school day, as well as a monthly newsletter.  In addition to my daily note sent home, please feel free to contact me by telephone or email.
