Greetings,

I am Adrian Mayes and I am fortunate to serve the community of Hughes Academy in Greenville SC. I am excited to continue my administrative career here with amazing students, educators, and leaders. I believe that knowledge is power and the key to a successful life is to have a specialized skill or educational foundation that will allow us to accomplish our goals and dreams. In everything that I do, I try to encourage others to be better and to do better. That cycle then matriculates throughout families and communities. We need each other if we are going to be our absolute best and get the most out of life. Relationships are a big part of who I am. When we are able to connect with each other, conversations become easier and we are able to handle situations with ease. I look forward to learning and growing in this community.

Before coming to Greenville County, I was an educator in Anderson, South Carolina. At La France Elementary School, I taught 5th and 6th grade science, social Studies, gifted and talented, and enrichment classes. I was awarded Teacher of the Year there, in 2018. I was also an assistant football and basketball coach for the last 4 years.
