About Me

I'm a graduate of Furman High School, which is located in Sumter, SC. I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. Upon my completion of college, I attended South Alabama College of Medicine in pursuit of a Medical degree. I studied there for a little over 2 years before taking a leave of absence because of personal reasons. It was at this time that I took a job with Adult Education in Sumter, SC. While there, I really felt a need to help those with educational shortfalls. During this time, I also began coaching football and basketball on the middle school level. After a short stint with  Sumter County Adult Education, I was offered an opportunity to teach and coach at another middle school right outside of Boston, MA. I stayed one year before being led back down South where another teaching/coaching opportunity became available at Lakewood High. There, I taught Science and coached, both on, the J.V. and Varsity levels for football and boy's/girl's basketball. I stayed there until I was offered a wonderful opportunity to take my growth to Woodmont High and coach/teach. I've taught at Woodmont High for twenty-one years, while coaching football, basketball, and track, during various years. I'll continue to teach Science courses, Freshman Success, and coach track and field this school year.
