Parent Teacher Communication
Communication is key to a successful year. We will be using SeeSaw as a primary means of communication. I will share all class announcements through this App and private messages can also be sent/received. You will be receiving a handout with a code to download the App and join our class group. We are also available via email and phone (phone will go to voicemail during school hours). If you ever need to contact us, please don’t hesitate.
Students will also have a blue folder that will be sent home Monday-Thursday and is expected to be returned each day after checking and removing any necessary papers. Notes for early dismissals and absences can be sent in these folders. We will check them daily.
Grading Guidelines
Students in kindergarten do not receive letter grades for assignments. Each nine weeks students will receive a report card that identifies skills that have been taught that quarter and student’s current level of progress (Mastered, Progressing, Beginning to Progress, Needs Support).
Classroom Expectations
Our classroom management system recognizes the value of working as a team and also meeting expectations as an individual. In the first week of school we will work together to create class expectations that follow along with our school PRIDE (positivity, respect, integrity, determination, empathy). Students will have the opportunity to earn class rewards as well as visit the treasure box for individual achievements.
Our Classroom uses Logical Consequences.
