Hi!!! I am so excited to have you in my class. First things first, my name looks hard to say, but it isn't, I promise, it's 'VAZ- KEZ'.
I just finished my first year at Bell's Crossing, and my 12th year in Greenville County. I have taught second grade for 8 years, and have been in third grade for the past 4. I absolutely love my job and getting to see my students each and every day. I love that every class brings new personalities, new ideas and strengths. Truly, everyday is a new day and a new start in elementary school.
I moved to Greenville from Albany, New York in 2013. It was touch-and-go at first, I had to learn what a 'buggie' was and that tea was served cold here, but I have been won over by the South! I graduated from SUNY Oneonta in 2009 with my Bachelor’s in History. I played basketball all four years while in college (Go Red Dragons!). I then went to The Sage Colleges to pursue my Master’s in Elementary Education and Literacy. I am certified to teach Kindergarten-6th grade and also to serve as a Literacy Specialist. I truly love my job and seeing my students grow every day.
In May 2019, I had my oldest daughter, Eleanor Rae. In January 2021, we had our second baby, Georgia Grace. My oldest will be in first grade this fall at Bell's.
