Hi!!! I am so excited to have you in my class. First things first, my name looks hard to say, but it isn't, I promise, it's 'VAZ- KEZ'.
I just finished my second year at Bell's Crossing, and my 13th year in Greenville County. I have taught second grade for 8 years, and have been in third grade for the past 5. I absolutely love my job and getting to see my students each and every day. I love that every class brings new personalities, new ideas and strengths. Truly, everyday is a new day and a new start in elementary school.
I moved to Greenville from Albany, New York in 2013. It was touch-and-go at first, I had to learn what a 'buggie' was and that tea was served cold here, but I have been won over by the South! I graduated from SUNY Oneonta in 2009 with my Bachelor’s in History. I played basketball all four years while in college (Go Red Dragons!). I then went to The Sage Colleges to pursue my Master’s in Elementary Education and Literacy. I am certified to teach Kindergarten-6th grade and also to serve as a Literacy Specialist. I truly love my job and seeing my students grow every day.
In May 2019, I had my oldest daughter, Eleanor Rae. In January 2021, we had our second baby, Georgia Grace. My oldest will be in second grade in August 2026 and my youngest will be entering kindergarten.
