I received my bachelor's degree in Physical Education Teacher Education from St. Andrews Presbyterian College (1995) and master's in Athletic Training from Indiana State University (1996). I was awarded an Ed.D. in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2005. I also became a BOC-certified Athletic Trainer in 1996. I have been an associate dean, faculty member, and practicing athletic trainer at several liberal arts and public universities over the last 29 years, teaching primarily athletic training, exercise and sport science, and health science courses. I have also taught personal training certification courses at accredited community colleges, presented research related to clinical education and biomechanics at regional, national, and international meetings, and serve on the editorial boards of three peer-review journals. And in my spare time, I train and compete horses in the sports of Dressage (Grand Prix level) and Three Day Eventing (Novice level) and foster kittens for local rescues. I'm excited to join Carolina High Academy's Health Science and Sports Medicine programs and champion its commitment to student growth and excellence. Go Trojans!
