We are happy you are here!
Welcome to your class!
My name is Karen Scruggs. I have been teaching at Sterling for the last 5 years. I graduated from the University of Alabama with a M.Ed in Elementary Education and Education Administration, and earned my middle school science certification from Furman University. My teaching experience has included 19 years in South Carolina, but I have also taught in Washington and in Mississippi for a total of over 30 years. My hobbies include spending time with my daughter and my family, traveling, coloring, playing with my dogs, and watching football. I am excited about working with you and your child this year! Please feel free to email or call me at any time if you have any questions.
Hello, my name is Ashley Evans. I am excited to be joining the fifth-grade team at Sterling School! I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in Physical Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education from Liberty University. We have three boys and two spoiled golden retrievers, Macey and Max.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, exercising, going on walks with my two golden retrievers, going to the beach, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals.
I am excited about working with you and your child this year. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. It is going to be an amazing year!
